For our project, we are going to build touch input and output device in a table. The idea is that the surface of the table will be both the input device, reading finger touches and objects placed on its surface, as well as the ouput device, with the image being projected onto the table surface. This will require building a table with a camera and projector mounted inside to facilitate both the reading of input and the projecting of output. Initially we plan to build it with just the camera, and use a regular monitor as output, but eventually we would like to add the projector to close the loop. Since this class is mostly about software, we will be developing several different software demonstrations to show the capabilities of the table, including an interactive music program and a game of some sort.
